DUBAI: A flydubai flight was forced to abort its take-off from Dubai International Airport early on Friday morning, with all passengers and crew safely evacuated.

The flight, which was bound for Hargeisa International Airport in Somalia, was scheduled to depart at 3.55AM.

The cause of the aborted take-off is currently under review by the airline.

Disruption to air traffic

The incident caused significant disruption to air traffic, with 14 flights due to land at Dubai International being diverted to nearby airports.

Flydubai confirmed that all affected passengers would be rebooked on a replacement flight, set to depart at approximately 9.30AM.

Operations return to normal

Despite the disruption, Dubai Airports confirmed that operations at the airport resumed to normal shortly after the incident. "Dubai International has returned to normal operations following an operational disruption," said a spokesperson. The airport reassured travellers that safety and customer comfort were their top priorities.
